The Flinders Island Quick Shear and Quick throw comp Friday night 7th December was a great opportunity to see local cockies and pro shearers in action. The Flinders Island Showgrounds came alive with music from DJ Misty and duo Holly and Sean as the shearers battled it out to claim the top honour. Local bloke Grant Green was unbeatable in a time of 28 secs, in the final showdown against his cousin Shaun Graham. The Iron man comp proved a crowd pleaser as teams of four worked together to shear a sheep, eat a meat pie with sauce, munch down a weetbix and skull a can, the NGS crew were victorious with an impressive weetbix eating technique no one could beat. All in all a fun night out, bring on next years comp.
