Lady Barron Port Upgrade

As you would be aware, Tasports is working to complete a number of upgrades to the facilities at Lady Barron Port.

Work on the roads has been delayed due to bad weather, and Tasports, in partnership with Broxburn Constracting are working together to resolve these issues. During this time, there are likely  to be road closures and diversions periodically to allow materials to settle. There will also be periods of time where the boat ramp will be inaccessible, and it is requested that alternative arrangements are made where possible.

Wharf strengthening works have begun, and throughout this process there will be limited access to the wharf. An electrical service upgrade is also well underway, as well as work to the stock yard in order to ensure both sheep and cattle can be unloaded at the same time.

Both Tasports and Broxburn Contracting appreciate the patience and support of the local community and port users during this time.

Value of upgrade: $1.6 million’

Anticipated time-frame: January 2013 – September 2013

Main upgrade works:

  • Stockyard maintenance works
  • Demolition of Fish Factory
  • Upgrades to sheep and cattle facilities
  • Demolition of existing transit shed
  • New transit shed
  • Wharf strengthening
