Six Hour Walking Challenge Flinders Island

Six hour walking challenge
This is planed to be a six hour walking/jogging event for individuals or teams of two or six people. It will be like a mini ‘Relay for Life”. The idea is to accumulate as many laps around the Cattle Track circuit in Whitemark, starting and finishing at the grassed area next to Freckles Café. You don’t have to stay there for the whole six hours. You can do one stint as part of a team or several. It is a flexible as you want it to be. Just build up your team as you want to. Fresh fruit and water will be available for the event, finishing with a Healthy BBQ. Provisionally Saturday the 28th April has been suggested from 9am to 3pm.
Any monies from the entry fee and donations will go towards purchasing more boards for the successful Surf School, which has had a great response from the Island’s children, youth and adults.
Local Talent Flinders Island
April 10th, 2012Local Flinders Island Band the ‘Ratstars’ are off to Swansea to preform in the festival ‘From Fance to Freycinet’ on the 12th May 2012. The Rats will be leading the lantern parade at 5.30pm, and then preforming later that night at the town hall. Admission to the hall will be $25. This is their first gig away from Flinders Island and the band could not be more excited.
