Stalls, Art Fair, Sculptures Workshops, Palm Reading and food, all to a backdrop of preformances by local artisits and musicians.

Tonight is Parmi Night at the Interstate! Yes its still going! So if you happen to have  forget about it, pop in there tonight for a parmi and pot of beer or house wine for $20. Choice from the original chicken parmi, Mexican, garlic prawn, mediterranean and a few others. It will be the best $20 you have ever spent.
Flinders Island Running Festival

Friday 31st August – Pasta Night at The Sports Club, Pasta night at The Sports & RSL Club followed by a motivational talk from Sam Crawthorn
Saturday 1st September – Pub 2 Pub (25.4km), Starting at the Furneaux Tavern (8am for walkers, 9am for runners) and finishing @ The Interstate Hotel followed up with soup and bread at The Interstate. If 25.4km is a little too far for you then enter a walking team of 2 or 4 people.
Dinner at Deepbite Cafe, Killiecrankie on Saturday Evening- Join Charlie Graham at Killiecrankie for an evening of live music and food. Bus transport provided from Lady Barron and Whitemark.
Sunday 2nd September – Flinders 5 (starts @ 11am), The Flinders 5 Fun Run is starting and finishing @ The Flinders Island Sports & RSL Club. After the race there will be a healthy BBQ and presentations.

Choice of 5 different parmi toppings or just have the original chicken parmi.

The Flinders Island Running Festival has a special guest this year………….. Steve Moneghetti!!! Steve Moneghetti will be doing ‘Spaghetti with Moneghetti’ on Friday the 2nd September. Saturday 3rd September will be the Pub2Pub, where individual or teams walk, run or bike 26kmfrom the Interstate Hotel to the Furneaux Tavern and on the Sunday the 4th September will be the ‘Flinders 5fun run/walk’. The Flinders 5 will be followed by the Flinders Fine Fare, enjoy yummy local food after a weekend of being active.

What a weekend, Saturday morning kicked off with Junior Football at the Flinders Island Recreation Ground the green team victorious over the red team. Then it was off to Emita for the 50th Birthday Party of local Big Bob, a shearer and all round good bloke. There was food a plenty and good company with many of the local islanders turning out to wish him happy birthday. Sunday another party, a surprise baby shower for Kelly. After a few dramas getting her to the Interstate Hotel where all the girls were patiently waiting, she arrived speechless. It was a fun afternoon, party games and delicous homemade cakes, muffins and lots of other treats. There was a very interesting baby quiz with questions like what was the last baby to be born in the Flinders Island Multi Purpose Centre (hospital)? and  how many children can the duck pond (local child care centre) look after at any one time? and more challenging ones like how many years does it take for a disposable nappy to decompose? 300, 400 or 500 years. The answer 500 unbelievable!
As much Justin and Rowena were looking forward to a night out at the Furneaux Tavern, the tavern is booked out with a 50th Birthday Party for a local islander. Dinner is postoned to next weekend, and it takeaway Fish (local Flinders Island gummy shark) and Chips from the Interstate Hotel instead.
