Sawyers Bay Stroll Flinders Island

Walk 2 in the Walks of Flinders Island.

Saywers Bay Stroll

For superb ‘Flinders Island walk’ take the left turnoff just before the start of the Emita Hill and arrive at the serene backwaters of Sawyers Bay. A great picnic and BBQ area as well as a photographers delight this venue is sure to please all who come to visit the island. Walking can be serious – perhaps an hour or two in either direction to arrive at Blue Rocks or Settlement Point or a more leisurely jaunt of a quarter hour to take in the tranquillity and magic of a beach ‘lost in time’. Thousands of ‘stunted’ mussel shells can be found washed up above high water mark as well as other interesting items of a nautical nature. This is one beach walk no to be missed.
