Hydro Tasmania would like to keep the Flinders Island community updated on the progress of the proposal to develop a Flinders Island Hybrid Energy Hub. The proposal is modelled on the successful King Island Renewable Energy Integration Project, which provides all the island’s energy needs from renewable sources when conditions allow.
The proposal for Flinders Island would enhance the existing power station, resulting in a reduced reliance on diesel fuel and increased use of renewable energy.
