Sea Sunday Flinders Island

The Christian Churches on the Furneaux Islands want to thank everyone who participated in making the Sea Sunday Ecumenical Service at Lady Barron Wharf on 30th October a reflective time of celebration for those concerned in our island living; and for those who work in seafaring aspects everywhere.

It was a blustery day – most appropriate to sense the power of the waves and highlight God’s calming reconciliation as we come together. Ricky Maynard welcomed us to country. Kerry Green threw the memorial wreath made by Betty Grace onto the water.

We are grateful to Tasports and all the families and community services that were represented. Donations collected on the day will be used by Mission to Seafarers.
